The government has cracked down on those who are involved in online gambling and scams and criminal activities in Shwe Kokko and KK Park – Myawady in Kayin State after transiting some neighbouring countries including Thailand and illegally entering Myanmar through border routes and 109 more foreigners were uncovered and detained today.
Combined teams of relevant departments are collecting their personal information and documents within a day in order to repatriate them to relevant countries as soon as possible. Between 30 January and 23 February, 2025, a total of 2,220 illegal foreign migrants were uncovered and detained and 673 of them have been repatriated to relevant countries through Thailand in accordance with the law, rules and regulations. The remaining 1,547 illegal migrants are ready for repatriation and they have been detained properly.
The government has effectively cracked down on various online criminal activities including online gambling and scams, which pose a threat to the country and the people, in cooperation with international organizations and the people as a national cause and those who were involved in such crimes are being repatriated. Authorities at different levels in regions and states are also uncovering online crimi[1]nal activities including online gambling and scams effectively and taking resolute action against them.
