According to a statement on demand letters released by the Myanmar Embassy in Japan on 15 February, over 320 Japanese companies will recruit more than 1100 Myanmar workers.
The embassy said that through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it verified in a timely manner the demand letters received from the Ministry of Labour.
It verifies whether labour supervisory companies and factories offering jobs in Japan are legally established and resubmits its findings and remarks to the Ministry of Labour via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After verification until 21 November 2024, the embassy submitted about 325 demand letters to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the report, up to 325 Japanese companies would employ over 270 Myanmar male workers and more than 870 Myanmar female workers.
According to a statement released on 31 January, up to 450 Japanese companies intend to recruit about 1500 Myanmar workers.
