Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, along with his entourage members, inspected the ongoing urban development activities in Hlinethaya Township, Yangon Region, and visited the Yangon West Technological University this afternoon.

Initially, the Senior General and party inspected the maintenance of the canals between the Aung Zeya Bridge and the Meegwat market in Hlinethaya Township. After reviewing the reports from responsible officials, the Senior General instructed that efforts be made to improve the water flow, to systematically plant trees along the roads, and to address other necessary improvements.
Following that, the Senior General and party visited the Bayintnaung Park, where they were briefed by Mayor U Bo Htay on the development and progress of various public recrea[1]tional spaces within the park, such as multi-purpose buildings, event areas, parking spaces, playgrounds, and swimming pools.
In the meeting room at the park, the Chief Minister of the Region and the Mayor clarified the progress on the ongoing urban development efforts for Hlinethaya Township as instructed by the SAC Chairman Prime Minister during his tour of the township. They also reported on the successful hosting of community events and celebrations in the Bayintnaung Park attracting crowds of people, and on the efforts to improve cleanliness and beautification within Hlinethaya Township. They also provided an update on the ongoing expansion of the park, the initiatives for flood prevention at the Yangon West Technological University, and the progress of water flow management projects.
Based on the explanations, the Senior General stated that as many workers in factories and workshops reside in Hlinethaya Township, proper planning and development of platforms and infrastructure are needed. The township should be organized with a focus on cleanliness, beautification, and systematic urban planning to ensure it becomes a modern city. The residents’ living conditions should be improved by creating a healthy, sustainable environment, and relevant authorities should ensure that health, cleanliness, and water resources are provided adequately. The government must ensure the necessary services are available for the well-being of the public, including the provision of clean water for public use.The Senior General further said that only with good health can one work effectively. Therefore, the responsible authorities of our government must ensure that the public’s health is well-maintained. In Hlinethaya, improving water flow and water management is a key issue that must be prioritized. It is essential to ensure that water intake and discharge systems are functioning properly throughout the entire township. In urban areas, when developing green zones, they should be established within a three-mile radius, and policies have been set to ensure that trees are planted along roadsides and in residential areas. The authorities have been instructed to implement and carry out these policies accordingly.
Afterward, the Senior General reviewed the small-scale model of Hlinethaya Township and instructed the responsible officials on the efforts for urban development.
Yangon West angon West Technological University
Afterward, the Senior General and party visited the Yangon West Technological University, where they were warmly welcomed by Rector Dr Kyi Soe and faculty members.
Inside the main building under construction, the rector provided a brief overview of the university’s history, its academic offerings, and its current state. The Senior General was informed about the academic progress, the departments, the faculty, and administrative appointments. The rector also clarified the progress in implementing the guidelines given by the Senior General.
Based on the presentations, the Senior General emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness, beauty, and environ[1]mental sustainability around the school campus. He also stressed the need for the expansion of classrooms and buildings, as well as other supporting structures, to be carefully planned with consideration for longterm needs. The development should include planting trees and flowers within the school grounds, as well as designing walkways, sports areas, and recreational spaces in alignment with the student population, ensuring that the scale and distance are appropriate for their needs.
Later, the Senior General inspected the progress of the construction of the new threestory main classroom building. He then reviewed the situation and provided instructions on the necessary actions based on the reports from the responsible officials.
