Dental and Oral Disease Specialist Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw offers free cleft lip, palate surgery to people

People with cleft lip and palate from various regions of Myanmar can receive free cleft lip and palate surgeries at Dental and Oral Disease Specialist Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr Naoko KISHI from Japan Heart group and 14 dentists led by Dental and Oral Specialist Dr Khin Maung performed free surgeries on four people with cleft lip and palate at Dental and Oral Disease Specialist Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw on October 26 and 27.

Japan Heart team which signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Medical Services under the Ministry of Health since 2004 has conducted medicine cooperation. About 300 free operations on cleft lip and palate were jointly performed by Japanese Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons led by Professor Dr. Mikihk KoGo and Myanmar dental surgeons from 2019 to date.

Dental surgeons will conduct free surgeries on people with cleft lip and palate at Dental and Oral Disease Specialist Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw every Wednesday.
