Plans are underway to introduce BYD electric vehicles into Myanmar market in early 2023

Dongfeng Motor Myanmar is planning to introduce Chinese BYD brand electric vehicles into the Myanmar market in early 2023.

Currently, there are three electric car companies which have foreign electric vehicle import permit and the high-tech BYD brand electric vehicle is the top- selling in China.

“The sale, service, spare parts and warranty are included in Dolphin, Atto-3 and Han which are BYD electric vehicles. As we have achieved the import permit for these BYD electric vehicles, plans are underway to import in cooperation with partners in the end of 2022,” Dr. Soe Tun, a managing-director of Farmer Auto Co., posted on his social network.

Although the price of BYD EV has not been fixed yet to import into the Myanmar market, negotiations are being taken with sale agents to fix the price.

The sale prices of BYD electric vehicles appeared on the social network are not official prices and the EV will be sold in Kyat currency but USD, an official of MoeZac Auto sale agent said.

The BYD electric vehicles are manufactured by China based BYD Auto Company which produced electric trains, electric bicycles and rechargeable batteries; and are popular in Europe.
