According to the local residents, hundreds of people come to the Dokhtawadi River near Taungkaing village in Amarapura Township of Mandalay Region to relax water play and beat the summer heat.
It is about 45 minutes from Mandalay to the place, which is located on the bank of the Dokhtawadi River near Taungkaing village. During thish summer, around 400 visitors to the river on weekends and public holidays, mostly come to play in the water to escape the heat.
The majority of visitors are from Mandalay and surrounding villages and towns. There are restaurants near the river, and some people go boating along the river. There is no entry fee but a car parking charge.
