On 13 January 2024, the chairman of SAC told the Yangon Regional Government to use all ways to provide enough electricity in Yangon during a meeting with officials, including the regional government, regarding the status of urban development in Hlinethaya Township, Yangon.
At present, the electricity supply situation in Yangon is divided into sections and alternating supply, and it is frequently faced with long-term power outages.
