Due to the low number of domestic and foreign tourists, tourism service businesses are only operating by attracting local tourists.
The Myeik Islands tourism businesses has been experiencing difficulties since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic,and the political situation, insecurity on the road and flight prices have caused more difficulties.
There are more than 40 businesses that provide tourism services in Myeik District, but now most of them are closed and a few tourism businesses are operating by attracting local tourists.
