More Messi Madness Thickets sell out for Philadelphia’s semi-final against Inter Miami CF in just 8 minutes

This Tuesday will see Philadelphia Union face Inter Miami CF in a Leagues Cup semi-final clash which will see one of these two MLS sides reach the final of the competition. The clash is set to take place at Subaru Park in front of 18,500 spectators.

Philadelphia Union have announced on their social channels that the semi-final has sold out, advising fans to turn to SeatGeak if they hope to attend the game – where prices start at 400 US dollars, ranging up to the thousands. The club themselves are holding some limited tickets, starting at 450 US dollars.

This will be Lionel Messi’s second away trip of the tournament, the first being an unforgettable match against FC Dallas in the round of 16, which saw the two teams draw 4-4 and Miami win the match on penalties. The 2022 World Cup winner scored a sumptuous free-kick to level proceedings for the away side before calmly slotting his penalty to help The Herons reach the quarter finals.

Tickets sold out in under 10 minutes against the Texan side. The club revealed on social media that fans hoping to attend the match will need to turn to AXS resale, where tickets started at a minimum price of 700 US dollars.

Messi mania has been taking over ever since the Argentine joined Inter Miami CF, with full stadiums in all five matches that he’s played for the Florida club. This has helped the tournament outpace projections, with around 800,000 fans having attended Leagues Cup matches, and for an average of 18,000 fans for each of the 45 group-stage games.

This trend is set to continue into the semi-final stages, as Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami side hope to reach the final at the first time of asking. However, they’ll face a tough test in Philadelphia Union – backed by a full stadium of home fans.
