The ceremony of sharing merits to the fallen martyrs leaders who sacrificed their lives for the nation was held at the meeting hall of the Yangon City Hall at 10.30 am on 19 July which is the 76th Anniversary Martyrs’ Day.
Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Yangon region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, officials and invited guests attended the ceremony.
First, the congregation received Five Precepts from Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Masoeyein monastery Sayadaw Buddhanta Ketara Biwunsa. After that, the attendees donated offertories to Sayadaws and monks and offered a day meal.
And then, sanghas and monks recited parittas and the attendees shared merits gained to fallen martyrs leaders.
