Ceremony to mark the 96th Anniversary of Founding of the Chinese PLA held in Yangon

A ceremony to mark the 96th Anniversary of Founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army was held at Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon on 18 July.

Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye, high ranking military officials of the Commander-in-Chief Office and their wives, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, the Yangon Region Command Commander, the regional ministers, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Chen Hai, Chinese military attaché Senior Colonel Wang Wei, Myanmar military attaché in Yangon, officials and invited guests attended the ceremony.

On arrival at the ceremony, the Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and party were welcomed by Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Chinese military attaché and families of the embassy.

The ceremony was opened by the national anthems of Myanmar and China. After that, Chinese military attaché to Myanmar Senior Colonel Wang Wei extended greetings.

Later, the Chief of General Staff and wife and the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar and military attaché and their wives cut the commemorative cake and posed commemorative photos.

After that, Chinese Amassador to Myanmar and military attaché hosted honourary dinner and presented commemorative gifts.
