Ambassador U Soe Lin Han of Myanmar Embassy in Brussels received the alternative chairmanship of ASEAN-Brussels Committee from Indonesian Ambassador H.E.Mr. Andri Hadi who is current chairman for six months from July to December at the ABC Ambassadors’ Meeting held on 26 June.
At the meeting, they discussed matters which has still implemented between ASEAN and EU, and confirming the approval for issues which had discussions between officials from ABC and EU within six months from January to June when Indonesia Embassy took duty as alternative chairman.
After the meeting, Indonesian ambassador handed over the chairmanship of ABC to Myanmar ambassador unanimously.
Myanmar Ambassador expressed his delightedness for the efforts of embassy’s staff together with the Indonesian ambassador and serving of his successful duty as alternative chair.
He also expressed his pleasure for handing over the alternative chairmanship with deeply trust on Myanmar Embassy by embassies which are members of ABC. He made promise to be all-inclusive situation and having equality, and to promote common interests between ASEAN and EU by holding the motto: centrality and mutual respective of ASEAN during his term as chairman.
ASEAN embassies in Brussels urged Myanmar Embassy to cooperate by sharing knowledge and experiences on subject-wise during the period taking duty as chairman.
