Torch relay ceremony for SEA Games hosted by Cambodia took place in Yangon

The Torch relay ceremony for 32nd Southeast Asian Games and the 12nd ASEAN Para Games to be hosted by Cambodia was held at the Cambodian Embassy in Myanmar in University Avenue, Yangon this morning.

Present at the ceremony were Myanmar Olympic Committee Chair Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, Cambodian Ambassador H.E Mr. CHUM Angvichet, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, officials, athletes of Myanmar Athletics Federation, students and people, totaling about 1,800.

In his speech, Cambodian Ambassador H.E Mr. CHUM Angvichet said the grand scale of 2023 Southeast Asian Games is an important historical event for all people in Cambodia and expressed delightedness to be hosted in the country for the first time.

The Torch relay ceremony began in Angkor Wat Temple in Cambodia and proceeded to 10 ASEAN countries. It will return back to Cambodia on 27 April.
The torch will proceed to Laos from Myanmar on 22 April.
