Myanmar and Bangladesh signs five-year agreement on rice trade from 2022 to 2027

Myanmar and Bangladesh have signed a five-year agreement on rice trade from 2022 to 2027 under the G-to-G pact.

A dinner party marking the successful export of high-quality rice to Bangladesh was held in Nay Pyi Taw on 5th April.

Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo said Myanmar and Bangladesh signed a MoU on rice trade under the G-to-G pact. The country exported 100,000 tonnes of rice in 2017 for the first time, 100,000 tonnes in 2021 for the second time and 200,000 tonnes for the third time with the cooperation of the government and private organizations.

The State Administration Council provided export subsidies of Ks-30 billion last year and Ks-79 billion this year to be succeeded in conducting the rice export processes.
