Russian travellers are interesting to visit Myanmar, U Naung Naung Han, chairman of Myanmar Tourism Entrepreneurs Association, said.
“Travellers and tourism companies from Russia eye on Myanmar. They are interested to visit the country. They mostly asked how to come, which airlines are operating and which places they can travel in Myanmar,” he said.
“Some Russian tourism companies wish to arrange travelling packages for their people. The companies want to come and observe in Myanmar themselves before they sell the travelling packages. So, they asked us to arrange for them,” U Naung Naung Han added.
With the aim of attracting more Russian citizens who intend to visit the country, Myanmar allowed one-year visa- free entry for Russian travellers as of July, 2022. Similarly, negotiation is underway to run direct flight between Myanmar and Russia.
If Russian travellers visit to Myanmar, it will become the country’s third largest source of foreign tourists.
