About 53 percent completed for Yangon-Dala River Bridge construction

About 53 percent of the construction works of Myanmar –Korea friendship Yangon-Dala River Bridge has been completed, according to the Ministry of Construction.
Union Minister U Myo Thant said: “Myanmar engineers will achieve many experiences and methods on construction of Cable Steel Bridge and modern technologies.”
The Myanmar –Korea friendship (Dala) River Bridge is the longest and largest one among Cable Steel bridges and is designed to pass under the bridge for sea-going cargo vessels. The total length of the Myanmar –Korea friendship Bridge (Dala) is 6,144 feet. The weight of the bridge is 75 tons per vehicle.
The bridge has 160 feet high and 988 feet wide to pass sea-going vessels in Yangon River.
The construction of Yangon-Dala Bridge project started in May 2019. Although the project is expected to be implemented in 2022, it is temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic.
If the construction work of Yangon-Dala Bridge is completed, the transportation route of Yangon and Ayeyawady regions will be better as well as the flow of commodity will become smooth and speedy.
