Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, visited voters in the Yangon Region today who are participating in the 2025 Multi-Party Democratic General Election (Part 2) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Elections are a fundamental aspect of democracy, and it is important for voters to exercise their right to vote, which is an essential part of their citizenship, in order to help determine the country’s future direction.
The 2025 Multi-Party Democratic General Election (Part 2) began in the relevant townships at 6 AM today. Voters cast their ballots freely, without any pressure, and in a disciplined, patriotic manner.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by the Commission Secretary General Ye Win Oo and other members, visited polling stations in the Yangon Region to encourage voters to participate in the election.
The acting president and members observed the computerized verification of voter lists conducted by polling station officials in Hlaing Township, Insein Township, and Latha Township. They noted the active participation of voters and engaged with them about their voting experiences, specifically regarding the use of the MEVM machine and the working conditions of the polling station staff. Furthermore, they took the time to greet the voters as they participated in the process.
