The activities of the MNDAA, TNLA, and AA terrorist insurgent groups have worsened the socio-economic conditions of ethnic communities and have lured young people with drugs, forcing them into conflict. This message was conveyed by Senior General Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the SSPC, during the 51st Rakhine State Day ceremony.
Rakhine State faces numerous challenges in transportation and communication. Despite the efforts of successive governments to develop the region, it is widely acknowledged that significant improvements have been made. However, powerful countries are currently exploiting the instability in Myanmar, including Rakhine State, to assert their geopolitical influence and control, contributing to unrest.
Some groups appear to pursue a multi-party democracy but seem to prefer isolation over collaborating for national unity. They have been known to manipulate young people, drugging them and compelling them to join the conflict. These groups understand that they cannot achieve their demands through armed violence; true resolution can only be attained through peaceful dialogue. The interim president’s message urges them to abandon the path of armed conflict and choose the right course.
