Importers engaged in border trade are granted import licenses provided they have export earnings. According to border trade entrepreneurs, all goods intended for import must apply for these licenses.
Currently, importing goods by ship from the Ranong-Kawthaung-Yangon border trade route is more convenient. Companies that import from Ranong Port will receive priority for import licenses.
