The Ministry of Education has released the results of the university entrance examination, which showed that 14 prisoners from Insein Central Prison and Mandalay Central Prison (Obo) passed with distinction.16 prisoners from both prisons sat for the 2025 university entrance examination and passed with a perfect score, with 14 passing with distinction.
The successful candidates from Insein Central Prison were 1 with 3 distinctions, 3 with 2 distinctions, 4 with 1 distinction and 2 with ordinary passing. 6 prisoners from Mandalay Central Prison also sat for the examination, 5 with 3 distinctions and 1 with 2 distinctions.
The results of the university entrance examination for the 2024-2025 academic year and the re-taken university entrance examination due to the Mandalay earthquake were announced nationwide on July 27, with 99,924 successful candidates.
