The construction of a coal dryer at the Tigyit Coal-fired Power Plant is scheduled for completion by September. Once finished, it will increase the plant’s capacity by an additional 30 megawatts, bringing the total output to 120 megawatts from the current 90 megawatts. This information was shared by Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun during his visit to inspect the electricity production status at the Tigyit Coal-fired Steam Power Plant.
During his visit, the Union Minister instructed that preparations be made to expedite the removal of construction materials ordered from abroad for the coal dryer. This project is being implemented as Phase 2 of the Tigyit Coal-fired Steam Power Plant, located in Pinlaung Township, Shan State (South).
Currently, the construction of the coal dryer is 78% complete and is on track to be finished by September. Additionally, the Union Minister inspected coal mining operations in the area, which utilize large machinery and equipment, and offered necessary assistance to ensure continuous operations.
