Myanmar contributes 1,000 tonnes of rice to Sri Lanka

A ceremony to handover 1,000 tonnes of rice to Sri Lanka from Myanmar was held at the Asia World Port Terminal in Yangon at 10 am on 2 September.
At the event, Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo said that the donation shows the sympathy of Myanmar government and the people towards the Sri Lanka people. He expected that the friendship and cooperation between the two countries will be enhanced.
Then, the minister handed over the documents about the donation of rice.
The Sri Lankan Ambassador presented a letter of acknowledgment to the chairman of Myanmar Rice Federation(MRF) for arranging to export rice and spoke words of thanks to Myanmar government and officials.
“The donation is very helpful for Sri Lanka which is currently facing an economic crisis and thanks to Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing,” the ambassador said.
