Chauk Town, Magway Region, recorded a record high of 45.2 degrees Celsius on April 25, 2 degrees Celsius higher than the average temperature for this April, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
The record-breaking daily temperatures were 45.2° in Chauk , 43.2° in Minbu Town, 43.1° in Myingmu , and 43.0° in Magway and Ganggao Towns.
Similarly, Myingyan town recorded 42.8°, Sinphyu Kyun and Minkin town recorded 42.5°, Aunglan and Kalaywa town recorded 42.3°, and Monywa town recorded 42.2°, respectively.
Daytime temperatures were 5 degrees Celsius above the average for April in Upper Sagaing Region and 2° above the average for April in Mandalay Region, Magway Region, Lower Sagaing Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Kayah State and Shan State, while the remaining regions and states recorded temperatures around the average for April, according to the Meteorological Department.
