{"id":9529,"date":"2025-02-22T05:55:45","date_gmt":"2025-02-22T05:55:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mtnewstoday.com\/en\/?p=9529"},"modified":"2025-02-22T05:55:48","modified_gmt":"2025-02-22T05:55:48","slug":"the-hon-lim-chin-tsongs-obe-palace-transformed-into-the-national-art-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mtnewstoday.com\/en\/?p=9529","title":{"rendered":"The Hon Lim Chin Tsong\u2019s OBE Palace transformed into the National Art Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>19 February 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Director of the National Museum (Yangon) Daw Nan Laung Ngi, The Hon Lim Chin Tsong\u2019s OBE palace in Bahan Township, Yangon Region, has been renovated and maintained since the 2022-2023 financial year to transform it into a national art museum that preserves, collects, and exhibits works of art from all over Myanmar, thereby promoting a greater understanding of the value of art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is planned to open 11 galleries on the first floor and eight galleries on the second floor. There will be coffee shops, libraries, painting studios, meeting rooms, offices, and souvenir shops on the remaining floors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hon Lim Chin Tsong&#8217;s OBE palace is a five-story building\u2014two for the main structure and another three in the intricate dome that sits atop\u2014named for a Chinese immigrant, businessman, and member of the Order of the British Empire, Lim Chin Tsong.
