During the event, Myanmar officials handed over documentation related to the deportation and transfer process to representatives from the People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chinese nationals transferred today were subsequently transported to China via Mae Sot Airport in Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process was overseen by Thailand\u2019s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister H.E. Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, H.E. Mr. Liu Zhong Yi, Assistant Minister of the People\u2019s Republic of China\u2019s Ministry of Public Security, and Major General Aung Kyaw Kyaw, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and member of Myanmar\u2019s Central Committee for the Supervision of Prompt Legal Action and Deportation of Illegal Foreign Nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These officials ensured the operation proceeded smoothly, met with the media, and provided clarifications regarding the transfer process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"621\" data-id=\"9507\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mtnewstoday.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/photo_2025-02-21_08-41-55-4-1024x621.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9507\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mtnewstoday.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/photo_2025-02-21_08-41-55-4-1024x621.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.mtnewstoday.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/photo_2025-02-21_08-41-55-4-300x182.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mtnewstoday.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/photo_2025-02-21_08-41-55-4-768x466.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mtnewstoday.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/photo_2025-02-21_08-41-55-4.jpg 1173w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the handover, the Thai Deputy Prime Minister, the Assistant Minister of China\u2019s Ministry of Public Security, and Myanmar\u2019s Deputy Minister for Home Affairs met at Mae Sot International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They discussed the first successful transfer of 200 Chinese nationals in a short timeframe due to prior trilateral coordination, Thailand\u2019s commitment to cooperating in facilitating the transfer of third-country nationals through coordination with relevant embassies, and the establishment of a trilateral operational framework, including plans for future meetings on these matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to confessions from the transferred Chinese nationals, most initially arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, from China, and then proceeded to Mae Sot, a Thai-Myanmar border town. From there, agents involved in online telecom fraud operations illegally transported them across the Thaungyin River into Myanmar, directing them to work in online fraud and gambling operations in the Myawady-KK Park area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Shwe Kokko region, where some armed groups operate, faces significant challenges and limitations in maintaining the rule of law and administrative control.
