The group’s field observations on 25 May confirmed that up to 16 Irrawaddy dolphins were present and active in this area.

“The condition of the Irrawaddy dolphins is monitored and recorded three times a month. On 25 May, a boat survey along the protected area revealed that 16 dolphins previously grazing in the waters near Mingun in Sagaing Township have moved to the waters near Indaung Village in Wetlet Township. We have also asked fishermen and local villagers to inform our team if they see baby dolphins,” said U Maung Maung Lay. Additionally, groups of Irrawaddy dolphins are also notably living and grazing in the Ayeyawady River near Ayekyun Village in Madaya Township, which is developing village-based tourism in the Mandalay-Kyaukmyaung area.

29 May 2024 The Irrawaddy Dolphin Protected Area near Indaung Village in the Mandalay-Kyaukmyaung region is home to

[24

post-6033","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-natural-and-environment
["GET
