SUPERVISED by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An inspection team led by the Customs Department made inspections on the Yangon-Hpaan\u2014Myawady Road on 12 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials confiscated K20,165,624 worth of car tyres and consumer goods that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) from two trucks and a trailer (approximately K70 million) near the Bago Industrial Zone Entrance on the bypass road. The action was taken under the Customs Procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Similarly, a combined team under the Magway Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force conducted inspections and captured a total of 1.3804 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K364,402 in Thayatpinkwat village of Magway township. The action was taken under the Forest Law. On 13 September, a total of 0.5280 tonne of illegal teak worth K80,000 in Lewe township of Dekkhina district were seized and the action was taken under the Forest Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Afterwards, on 14 September, an on-duty team made inspections at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Combined Checkpoint. They captured K2,250,000 worth of motorbike tyres without declaration in the Import Declaration (ID) from a vehicle. The action was taken under the Customs Procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, an inspection team led by the Myanmar Police Force captured an unregistered Hijet car (approximately K3 million) between the 6\/3 Milepost and 6\/4 Milepost on the YangonMawlamyine Road (Moppalin) and the action was taken under the Export and Import Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A team led by the Bago Region Forest Department captured a total of 10.6100 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K4,449,612 in the Toungoo and Nyaunglebin districts and the action was taken under the Forest Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, 11 arrests estimated at K100,309,638 were made on three consecutive days from 12 to 14 September, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
