A Seminar organized by the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies under the auspices of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) on Non-traditional Security Matters among Mekong Lancang Countries was held at Chatrium Hotel in Yangon on 14 July 2023. Members of the Myanmar-ISIS, professors and research fellows from the respective Think Tanks of Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and China participated in the seminar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. U Kyaw Myo Htut delivered a welcome remark. After that, H.E. Mr. Chen Hai, the Ambassador of the People\u2019s Republic of China to Myanmar made a statement on the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation. Consequently, the Chair of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies made his opening remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frank and open discussions were held to address combating terrorism, human trafficking related to online gambling and scamming, cybercrime, food security and extreme poverty reduction with a view to finding possible areas and mechanisms for further cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
