Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) families led by Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife paid respect to retired senior military officers including former President General U Thein Sein on 27 March in commemoration of 78th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The retired military officers attending the ceremony today are like our parents and teachers. This why we pay respect every year when the time comes. I am grateful and honoured to see them attend the ceremony yearly. It is a fine tradition of the Tatmadaw that such an event is held as a gesture of juniors showing respect to their seniors in accord with the Buddhist tradition, the Senior General said in the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afterwards, the Senior General paid respect to the retired senior military officers in accordance with the Myanmar traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of the retired senior military officers, former President retired General Thein Sein and retired Lt-Gen Tun Kyi gave words of advice at the occasion, SAC Information Team stated.
Then, the Senior General and senior military officers posed for documentary photos together with the retired military officers and wives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
