Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing will embark on a three-day State Visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic from July 3 to 5, at the invitation of Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith, as announced by Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Laos. The Ministry stated that the visit aims to further strengthen the longstanding friendship, close neighborly ties, and bilateral cooperation between the two countries, while promoting mutually beneficial relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Myanmar and Laos first established diplomatic relations in 1955 and have since maintained friendly relations and cooperation across various sectors at the bilateral, regional, and international levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his visit, President U Min Aung Hlaing is scheduled to hold talks with Lao leaders on issues of mutual interest and participate in commemorative activities marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The State Visit is expected to reaffirm both governments’ commitment to deepening cooperation for the benefit of their peoples and enhancing mutual understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since taking office as President of Myanmar, U Min Aung Hlaing has conducted several high-level overseas visits, including an official visit to India and a State Visit to China at the invitation of the Chinese government. This upcoming visit to Laos will mark his first official trip to an ASEAN member state in his current capacity. Additionally, Myanmar is slated to host the President of Belarus for an official visit in the coming days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
