{"id":12301,"date":"2026-06-19T04:35:59","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T04:35:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mtnewstoday.com\/en\/?p=12301"},"modified":"2026-06-19T04:36:01","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T04:36:01","slug":"president-u-min-aung-hlaing-grants-interview-to-phoenix-news-agency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mtnewstoday.com\/en\/?p=12301","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;President U Min Aung Hlaing Grants Interview to Phoenix News Agency&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">19 June 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the invitation of President Xi Jinping of the People&#8217;s Republic of China, President U Min Aung Hlaing of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, who is currently in Hangzhou, People&#8217;s Republic of China, granted an interview this morning to Phoenix Television regarding matters of interest to the media organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the interview, the President provided comprehensive explanations on Myanmar-China friendship and strategic cooperation, economic and trade collaboration between the two countries, as well as investment opportunities in Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also elaborated on Myanmar\u2019s positions concerning regional and international affairs, along with other topics raised by Phoenix Television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the President responded to questions from the Myanmar Narrative Think Tank and several domestic media outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leading a high-level Myanmar delegation on a state goodwill visit to China from June 15 to 19 at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President U Min Aung Hlaing stayed in Beijing from June 15 to the morning of June 17. During his stay, he held cordial meetings with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People&#8217;s Congress (NPC) Zhao Leji. The meetings focused on enhancing bilateral friendship and cooperation, and a total of 18 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on assistance and investment were signed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After arriving in Shanghai on the evening of June 17, the President received a courtesy call from Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng. During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral investment cooperation, and the President also visited the Huangpu River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On June 18, the President attended and inaugurated the China-Myanmar Economic Expo at the Radisson Hotel in Shanghai. He also participated in the Myanmar-China Investment and Trade Networking Summit (MCITP-2026), where he responded to questions raised by Chinese entrepreneurs and discussed matters relating to their business requirements. In addition, he held separate meetings with executives of major Chinese companies and conducted a study visit to the Lingang Special Economic Zone. Later that afternoon, he departed for Hangzhou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upon his arrival in Hangzhou, the President was welcomed by the Vice Mayor of Hangzhou, the Ambassador of Myanmar to China, and the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar.
