To commemorate the 75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, which will fall on the 4th of January 2023, the government will sell new one-tical gold coins and half-tical gold coins starting on the 5th January, the Central Bank of Myanmar announced.
The new one-tical gold coins and half-tical gold coins will be available at the sale shops of Myanmar Gems Enterprise in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay.
The new one-tical gold coin has a diameter of 26.0 millimetres (mm) and a thickness of 2.0 mm. The centre of the face of the newly-designed gold coin is an image of white elephant and the words \u201c75th Anniversary\u201d written at the right of the image. At the bottom of the white elephant, \u201cone tical 2023\u201d, and along the circumference of the gold coin, \u201cCentral Bank of Myanmar\u201d and \u201c75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day\u201d is etched respectively. The opposite face of the coin also has image of the white elephant while \u201c75th\u201d at the right of the image, \u201c16.329 gm.2023\u201d at the bottom, and \u201cCentral Bank of Myanmar\u201d,\u201c75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day\u201d along the circumference are etched in the English language.
The newly-designed half-tical gold coin has a diameter of 22.0 millimetres (mm) and a thickness of 1.5 mm. At the centre of the face of the newly-designed gold coin is an image of white elephant with the words \u201c75th Anniversary\u201d written at the right of the image. At the bottom of the white elephant, \u201chalf-tical 2023\u201d, and along the circumference of the gold coin, \u201cCentral Bank of Myanmar\u201d and \u201c75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day\u201d is etched respectively. The opposite face of the coin also has image of the white elephant while \u201c75th\u201d at the right of the image, \u201c8.164 gm.2023\u201d at the bottom, and \u201cCentral Bank of Myanmar\u201d,\u201c75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day\u201d along the circumference are etched in the English language.
