The Yangon Region Investment Committee (YRIC) has approved seven foreign enterprises and one joint venture to invest 12.408 million U.S. dollars in the manufacturing sector, the state-owned daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The approvals were made during a YRIC meeting on Nov. 26, the report said, adding that these new investments are expected to create 6,786 jobs for locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The approved businesses will operate manufacturing of garments, poly resin ornaments, Christmas ornaments, home decorations, ceramics, porcelain figurines, cold cast bronze ornaments, earphone collectibles and accessories on a cutting, making and packaging (CMP) basis and marketing and distribution of various kinds of plastic bags, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The regional investment committee has been endorsing investment projects in accordance with the Myanmar Investment Law to attract investments and create more job opportunities, it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
