Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Mr Chu Cong Phung, Chairman of the Vietnam-Myanmar Friendship Association, yesterday morning.
At the meeting, they cordially discussed political progress in Myanmar, preparations for a free and fair election, and the invitation extended to international election observation teams.
They discussed enhancing friendly relations and promoting cooperation between Myanmar and Vietnam, as well as the aid provided by Vietnam to Myanmar after the devastating Mandalay earthquake.
Their discussions emphasised promoting cooperation in agriculture and livestock, the production and tourism industries, and plans to increase trade and investment between the two countries.
After the meeting, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Chairman of Vietnam-Myanmar Friendship Association exchanged commemorative gifts and had documentary photos taken.
Also, present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Commission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Ko Ko Kyaw. The Vietnam-Myanmar Friendship Association Chairman was accompanied by his delegation members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
