Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Hassan left for Myanmar today to pay a courtesy call on Myanmar’s top leaders and hold discussions with his Myanmar counterpart, Malaysian media reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLeaving Myanmar to meet with Acting President Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, and my counterpart U Than Swe,\u201d Hassan wrote on his Facebook page this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stated that the purpose of his working trip to the conflict-torn country was to \u201cdelay efforts to achieve peace and further destabilize the situation\u201d due to recent ceasefire violations. His post included a photo with the caption, \u201cAt the Royal Malaysian Air Force Base. Departing for Myanmar\u2019s administrative capital, Nay Pyi Taw.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Malaysian Foreign Ministry confirmed today that Hassan\u2019s trip to Myanmar, originally scheduled for September 19, was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ministry has confirmed that Mohammed is on a one-day working visit to Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. This visit aligns with the outcomes of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, which took place in July 2025. Mohammed is accompanied by Tan Sri Osman Hashim, the ASEAN Chairman\u2019s Special Representative for Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his visit, Hassan is scheduled to pay courtesy calls to key figures, including the Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), Acting President Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and Prime Minister U Nyo Saw. He will also meet with U Than Swe, the SSPC\u2019s Foreign Minister. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
