The press conference regarding the 2025 multi-party democratic election took place today at 1 PM at the Union Election Commission (UEC) office in Nay Pyi Taw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the initial statements at the press conference, it was noted that the first voter list for the election will be announced by the end of September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, independent candidates will not be allowed to contest in constituencies where the proportional representation (PR) system is in effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The commission has reduced the number of required party members and campaign offices across the Union by one-third percent, in accordance with the law. The deadline for submitting applications is September 7. However, the UEC indicated that it would extend the date until September 8 before canceling the registration of four political parties and officially dissolving them on September 9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
