The Tatmadaw has been conducting counter-terrorism operations across regional command territories to ensure public safety. On July 16, the Tatmadaw successfully regained full control over the Taungkham area and Nawnghkio town, which had been temporarily occupied by terrorist insurgents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the insurgents’ occupation of the Taungkham area and  Nawnghkio  Township, local residents were forced to abandon their livelihoods and flee  their  homes, leading  to severe socio-economic decline. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the terrorists blocked the Nawnghkio-Kyaukkyan-Ummakha-Ummathi road, disrupting the flow of goods in the region. As a result, daily cement production from the Crown Cement Factory, located about seven miles northwest  of  Nawnghkio  near Laung Hpan Village, could not be  efficiently  transported  to areas in need\u2014particularly those affected by the Mandalay earthquake. This shortage forced civilians to purchase cement at inflated prices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the Tatmadaw\u2019s recapture of the Taungkham area and Nawnghkio Township, the Nawnghkio-Kyaukkyan-Ummakha-Ummathi-PyinOoLwin-Mandalay route has been reopened, allowing smooth transportation of goods and accelerating regional development projects. Local residents have now begun returning to their homes in safety and can gradually restore their daily lives and economic activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the reopening of this critical route, 59 trucks carrying cement from the Crown Cement Factory were able to  transport a  total  of  1,947 tons (36,580 bags of cement) to Mandalay today. Each truck carried  33  tons,  ensuring a steady supply for reconstruction efforts. This  will  allow civilians to purchase cement at more affordable prices for rebuilding homes, roads, bridges, pagodas, and other struc-tures damaged by the Mandalay earthquake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government is actively working to improve the socio-economic conditions of people across the nation. Meanwhile, the Tatmadaw continues to enhance security operations in certain regions and states to protect civilians from the threat of terrorist violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
