In exporting the goods from Myanmar to China via Lwejel-Layin border trade, China lifted shuntain system and re-allowed the permission of direct export on 11 December, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The exporters from Myanmar can reduce the shuntain costs due to the relaxations and policy changes on COVID-19 in China, an official of Lwegel border gate of the ministry.
The move came after the officials conducted checking of COVID-19 at Lwegek-Laring border trade route in October.
The official said: \u201cChina lifted the shuntain system (driver substitution) at Lwegel-Laring border gate as of 11 December. So the Myanmar exporters can reduce the costs. Myanmar drivers can directly enter to China\u2019s border gate but they must wear masks. They do not need to spray disinfectants and to test COVID-19. The relaxations came due to the policy changes on COVID-19 in China.\u201d
\u201cPreviously, after organizing the township-level COVID-19 prevention committee, the health workers of the Ministry of Health conducted swab test for COVID-19 at Moemauk camp. The officials checked customs and made shuntain process. Now, they do not need to do anymore,\u201d the official said.
The border gates were closed due to COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020 and the Lwegel border gate was opened in the first week of January, 2022. Myanmar exported rice, broken rice, maize, tissue banana, watermelon and rubber to China and imported cement, clothing, agricultural machine, various machines and commodities from China.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
